PAINTING AND DRAWING  (Six Weeks)

Thursday  10:00 - 11:20 am  Instructor: Phyllis Johnson

Friday      6:30 - 8:50 pm   Instructor: MARK de MOS

A class for beginning to experienced painters. Use the basic mediums of acrylic and watercolor, plus mixed media to produce loose bold yet realistic paintings. Individual attention; special projects for beginners


LIFE DRAWING *   

Wednesday     (Six Weeks)     6:30 – 7:50 pm 

Instructor: LAURIE HARDEN

Learn to draw for live models under the guidance of award-winning portrait-artist Laurie Harden. Learn basic proportions while sketching to reinforcing concepts taught in each   class. This course will address gesture drawing, contour drawing, shading, faces and figures in 1 min. poses to 20 min. poses.


DRAWING STUDIES   

MONDAY      (Six Weeks)    6:30 – 7:50 pm 

Instructor: KAREN PARK

Study the elements of drawing in line as it describes form, light, shadow, and space. Learn texture and shading using an artist's eye to understand the basic concepts of drawing. Compose and draw still-life, landscape and portraits.

 

CREATE INNER CALM Through Artistic Expression..ahh  

Tuesday      (Six Weeks)    7:00 – 8:30 pm

This unique class is your oasis of bliss from a hectic world. We begin with soft music and guided imagery; then, we coax our inner artist out to play as we explore a variety of artistic media. No rush, no stress, no previous art experience necessary… just relax, have fun and celebrate your individual artistic spirit in an uplifting, supportive environment you’ll love! Start date Sept. 25th.

DRAWING MADE SIMPLE FOR SENIORS *

Thursday     $195 - 1 Hour    10:00 – 11:00 am  

Instructor: BILL GOW

Tap into your artistic side and discover the artist in you. Let Bill guide you in this enjoyable drawing experience. Learn to draw children, animals, flowers and landscape. Then make it your own with the use of watercolor and other mixed media to complete your creations.  All art materials supplied (Ask about our Senior Discount)


GORGEOUS WATERCOLOR MADE EASY

Saturday (Four weeks - Two-hour classes) 1:00 - 3:00 pm

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Ann Lorraine Felice is a Doctoral candidate at Columbia University in the Art Education Department (dissertation level) received her MA, &  BA from William Paterson University.  Ann retired from the Nutley School System after 32 years and hosted and produced the video series, “Let’s Create” (Parent’s Choice Award and Coalition for Children’s Quality Video recommended); now an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University, supervising art student teachers.  Ann has dedicated her career to teaching children and has made “Let’s Create” Studio, Denville her new love.
Marc demos  is the recipient of Multiple Awards by the NJ Water Color Society and the NJ Min. Art Society.  He is a founding member of Cerulean Gallery, and is award winning and widely exhibited.
Bernadine Ferrari has a BFA in Art, Kean University.  Bernadine studied at Parsons and School of Visual Arts, in addition summer studies in France and Italy. Her current work includes graphic design, caricatures and art instruction.
Dave McCoy has been drawing since childhood, and has worked as a professional cartoonist and illustrator for 30 years.  He taught classes for the past 5 years at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon in Dover, drawing and design classes at Gibbs College.  Mr. McCoy has a BA Art, freelances as a caricature artist, and is a children’s book illustrator.
Karen Park is a talented illustrator working as a professional artist for many years.  She is also a muralist; an example of her work is in the Lakeland YMCA.  Karen is teaching enrichment art classes in the Kinnelon school district and now at Let’s Create.
Martha Romano is a professional award-winning artist and art educator, and has been an instructor at Let’s Create for ten years.  She is the creator of popular After School Art Enrichment programs, which she has conducted in over 25 area schools and libraries to enthusiastic reviews and return requests.  Martha is a graduate of NSFIA and also attended the School of Visual Arts, NYC
Laurie Harden attended Kansas City Art Institute, transferred to the Rhode Island School of Design where she majored in painting, Illustration and minored in printmaking. Ms. Harden is a member of The Graphic Artists Guild, Morris County Art Association, the American Artists Professional League and the Arts Council of the Morris Area. She was recently commissioned to paint the portrait of former N.J. Governor Brendan Byrne.
Bill Gow a Mountain Lakes resident is an accomplished artist who has worked in advertising and has done book illustration. He is also a professional sculptor. He comes to us with experience in teaching art to seniors at St. Claire’s and is a welcomed addition to our staff. 
Kelly Bogucz has a passion for graffiti art and is working on her BFA in fine arts at William Paterson University. Kelly has always strived to be an art educator and has been with Let’s Create for the last 5 years. Her innovation and enthusiasm help spark her student's imagination while learning the specific techniques .of this art expression 
Jessica Ross our newest staff member specializes in oil painting, watercolor, and illustration. She is a graduate of Montclair University, where she received BFA in Illustration and Animation. Jessica is an outgoing and inspiring educator.
